The United States has found itself in the most severe global threat environment in the past 80 years. In many ways, the current situation is more dangerous and unstable than during the Cold War nuclear standoff.

Multiple countries are vying for dominance in their respective regions, rapidly benefiting from the spread of high technology, knowledge, and skills, believing that they can overturn the world order led by the United States. Given the relative decline and overall weakness of the United States in the face of these threats, its opponents may be right.
The deterrence strategy that has been a pillar of US national security since the Cold War has become ineffective. Nowadays, many opponents are rising and do not seem to be concerned about the military capabilities or determination of the United States. This fact indicates that the deterrent power of the United States has already significantly decreased. Therefore, Washington is now working hard to restore its lost deterrent power.
