According to reports, Hezbollah stated in a statement that they launched rockets at the Carmel military base in northern Israel.
Israeli officials confirmed the news and stated that Hezbollah launched over 100 rockets towards the northern border area of Israel that day, with rockets and shrapnel falling around Haifa city. Local hospitals reported that multiple people were lightly injured.
Later, the Israeli Air Force announced that they carried out airstrikes on the Lebanese capital Beirut, striking Hezbollah’s intelligence agency and weapons storage facilities in Beirut.
The Lebanese authorities stated that on that day, the southern part of Beirut and its surrounding areas were heavily bombed by the Israeli army, resulting in over 1400 deaths in the past two weeks.
