Yesterday, the WTT China Grand Slam tournament kicked off. In the first match, the top seed of women’s singles, Sun Yingsha, swept Polish player Natalia Bayo 3-0 and easily advanced to the round of 32. On the evening of the same day, the top seed in men’s singles, Wang Chuqin, defeated Japanese player Daiden Shimizuka 3-0 to win a good start and smoothly advanced to the round of 32.

There are two venues for the WTT China Grand Slam tournament, namely the Eight Pole Arena and Hall 2. Table 1 is located in the Bajichang area, while Tables 2, 3, and 4 are located in Hall 2.

Yesterday morning, the WTT China Grand Slam kicked off the main competition, with Sun Yingsha facing Bayou in the first round, marking their first encounter.

Bayo is currently ranked 38th in the world, and facing Sun Yingsha, the pressure she is under is undoubtedly enormous. In the first game, Sun Yingsha took the lead with a score of 11-7. In the second game, Sun Yingsha won again with a large score of 11-1 through precise wide-angle landing and superb skills in controlling landing points. In the third game, Sun Yingsha secured the victory with a score of 11-8, giving the Chinese table tennis team a good start. Sun Yingsha said after the game that she played at home and her overall performance and form were still good.

On the first day of the WTT tournament, Wang Chuqin’s opponent was Japanese player Daiden Shimizuka, who is currently ranked 41st in the world. This is also the first time the two sides have faced each other.

Wang Chuqin demonstrated strong competitive strength and good game form, ultimately defeating Daiden Shimizuka 3-0 in just 25 minutes. Wang Chuqin said after the game that both sides were not very accustomed to each other’s playing paths, which could be considered an encounter, but he was very well prepared.
